According to Wikipedia, "Photojournalism (sometimes called photo journalism) is a particular form of journalism (the collecting, editing, and presenting of news material for publication or broadcast) that creates images in order to tell a news story". In recent years, this approach to wedding photography has lent itself to the practice of capturing matrimony by many top wedding photographers around the world. This artistic, documentary style may entail black and white or color photos, film or digital wedding photography. Wedding photojournalists work in a documentary manner, easily replacing the narrative itself.
As defined by Encarta, Photojournalism is "journalism using mainly photographs: a form of journalism in which photographs play a more important role than the accompanying text". Wedding Photojournalism is characterized by its candid, creative and natural results spanning serious to humorous scenes. While traditional wedding photography dictates the setting, a wedding photojournalist documents the moment as it naturally happens.
Tyler R. Brown Photography, a Dallas Texas based photographer also specializes in lifestyle photography which encompasses the genres of portrait photography, senior portrait photography, family portrait photography as well as boudoir photography and headshot photography.
We had a blast taking the Schad's family portraits out at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden!

Stacia and I met Meredith and her Mom at Delaney Vineyards for a few bridal portraits. Things did not go exactly according to plan, to say the least. We had a dress alteration issue and we could not get inside the venue, no matter how loudly we knocked! Props to Meredith, for sucking it up and letting us shoot through the pain! We “fixed” the dress with some hardware we found laying around, and just waited out the venue proprietor (we knew she was there, her car was in the parking lot) and in the end made some beautiful portraits. Here are a few:
Yes, we have done it again. Completely revamped the website. It's all new, from top to bottom so go on-line and check it out.
So we went to the West End with Meredith and Richard, had a few drinks and started shooting. Man it was crazy hot, but we powered through it and only had to stop once for water. I was drenched, but they looked great all the way through. We are really looking forward to the big day!

Christina and offspring came to visit Stacia and I this weekend. We had a great time. We had to use this opportunity to take a few family pictures. We didn’t go far, just the backyard, the kids didn’t want to be too far away from “Rock Band”, which I am sure was the highlight of their vacation!
The new website is here. http://tylerRbrown.com. Take a look when you have a chance, and let me know what you think.
Stacia and I met the Coffey’s at their home to take a quick family portrait. They are a lot of fun, and I think they had as much fun as we did. We moved all of the furniture around to get the best backdrop, but it was worth it! Thanks for having us over guys!

Simply the best!
On our way home from our recent trip to Tulsa for the Fegley wedding, Stacia and I drove through Oklahoma City and stopped by to visit my grandparents. I never knew my grandpa, he died before I was born, but I knew my grandma Jo and was very sad when she passed. Life is just too short. They rest now in a beautiful cemetery, high off the ground where they can see for miles across the plains of Oklahoma.
Stacia and I had a great time being part of Tara and Ryan’s big day. They are an amazing couple and so much fun to be around. Thanks again guys for having us, and a BIG thank you to Ryan for your service to our country.
…came to visit us this week, so of course we had to make her a new Facebook photograph, and here it is!
Stacia and I were invited to Tulsa this weekend to take part in and shoot Karen and Rob’s wedding weekend. We had a blast, and I am so glad I got to be part of it. Congrats guys, I am so happy for you! Here are a few of the photographs:
Stacia and I met up with Tausha and Raymond downtown this evening to shoot their engagement. Tausha gave us strict instructions to make it edgy, cool and urban. She emphasized nothing cheesy, so we went to town (literally) and here’s what we made, note the lack of cheese! I can’t wait to shoot their wedding, it’s going to be a blast. Bring the VW Raymond, it would make a great get-a-way car! :)
So my coach and keeper tied the knot this weekend, and Stacia and I were there to capture the whole thing. It was a lot of fun, and the photographs turned out awesome. I tried to make them look old school for you Kim! Enjoy!
Stacia and I met up with Carrie and the girls for a quick family shoot this evening. They were passing through Dallas on their way up to Tulsa, and Carrie needed a few shots to put on a purse. Yes, that’s right, I said purse. I didn’t even know you could do such a thing, but check it out.
You can learn more about this very unique photo handbag amalgam on Gina Alexander’s website. In the mean time, check out some of the photographs:
Carrie, your girls are gorgeous, and so much fun. Thank you Grace for my get well card! :)
Angela and Jon asked us to shoot their wedding at the Wales Manor Vineyard up in McKinney, TX. We had a wonderful time. I love the shots with the horses, who were all to eager to pose for us. They literally ran over to the fence to get in the frame. It was pretty funny!
Congratulations guys, enjoy the honeymoon!
I just returned from the UK where I was able to take a break from the Arsenal Futbol Religious Experience (more on that in a future post) and visit an old friend in Wales. My friend Mark died on the 16th of April in 2003, at 29. Mark and I share the same birthday, May 25th, so it was fitting that I was able to be over there for it. I was able to stop by and refresh his cache of American flags that Kristel, his wife (or I guess widow, which is still hard for me to say) sent over with me. I took these shots of where he now rests, which is just across the street from the house he grew up in. Here is his beautiful view of the Welsh countryside. You are missed mate.
A little rain couldn’t lessen this wonderful day. Whitney and Michael tied the knot at the Surrey House, and invited us to be their photographers. We had a wonderful time doing it, and it was a lovely wedding, rain and all. Congrats guys, and thanks again for having us on your big day.
We shot Ashley and Nathan’s nuptials at Chestnut Square this weekend. It was a perfect day, all the way around. The sky kept threatening to open up on us, but it thankfully never did, and everything went according to plan. Nathan even laughed (a little) at Stacia’s Brother’s joke, “Everything went off without a hitch, except the one!”. Thanks again guys for having us, we really enjoyed it. Here are a few of the shots:
