Lost? This Senior Will Find You Wherever You Are
It is not every day that you meet a senior like Josie Drury from Alvarado High School! We were so pumped for this session because Josie brought Moose, her beautiful blood hound, to her senior shoot! These awesome duo works for a non-profit volunteer organization called Search One Rescue Team, or SORT for short. These amazing people donate their time and effort to...
Senior Nearly Dies During Photo Shoot
Texas weather being Texas weather, the summer this year lasted much longer than it normally does. We had a few cold front pop through, but because there was not a full freeze, the evil mosquitos that plague Dallas never really died. So when we decided to explore an abandoned building in Downtown Celina for Wakeland High School senior Jake Ellsworth, it shouldn’t have surprised us that not even bug spray could keep us safe.
We met Jake on the
How to Slay Your Senior Session
For most of us born before the 21st century, keeping up with the newer terminology of our current 2017 seniors and the other ‘young people’ of our society can be rather challenging. But it wasn’t hard for our team to learn what the word ‘slay’ means to our current seniors when Prosper High School senior Sydni Moss walked into our studio last October!
To 'slay' does not
Modeling is a Walk in the Park - Not
If you think that modeling is as easy as it looks, then Riley, Lauren, and Sophie could tell you a thing or two.
Thankfully, these lovely ladies have modeling experience. While Riley and Sophie are a part of our 2016 Senior Model Team, Lauren had a Model for a Day session with us earlier this year. Normally, we wouldn’t ask models outside of our Senior Model team to join us on a group shoot, but Lauren is Riley’s best friend and it was her birthday!
The seniors from Liberty High School and Flower Mound High School met...
From A Senior's Perspective: Savannah
Although we love all of our clients, because our Senior Model Reps are with us all year long, we are able to have a special bond with these amazing young people! We love that we get to hang out with them as they move through their senior year, make big decisions for college, and help them have some gorgeous photos that they will have for forever....
Go Cruzin' With Our Team
Pardon the pun, but when you have an opportunity as good as that, would you pass it up? Of course not! That’s also what we told Lone Star High School Senior, Nathalia Cruz, when she came to us saying that one of her friends was willing to let us use their mansion as a backdrop for Nathalia’s senior portraits!
When we go to what Nathalia called ‘the house’ we were stunned. Hidden in a neighborhood, the ‘house’ was a sprawling masterpiece. Gorgeous paintings covered the walls and were reflected in the gorgeous marble flooring. With beautiful antique furniture and wide windows, the space was breath taking and had our team gasping every time we entered ...
Volleyball is Life - Or At Least it is to These Seniors
When you have as many volleyball players as we do on our Senior Model Rep Team – you have to have a volleyball themed session!
Rachel Rhoades, Chelsea Roemer, and Gabi Norsworthy joined us in the studio for a fun and quick session surrounding their favorite game. You should recognize all of these gorgeous young ladies as they have been in multiple shoots with us. Rachel’s been in the Summer Florals Session earlier this year, as well as the recent Winter session, and...
Madi Hits Her Mini Softball Session Out of This World
If you haven’t already recognized this sassy redhead from her other sessions this year, let us introduce Ms. Madi Meyers. Madi joined our senior model team last summer as an Elite Model, and started off her career with us dressed up with Morgan Stewart and Carly Garrett during our Hispter themed session.
We saw Madi again in the fall for her personal session at...
HELP! We're Under Attack By Zombies
It seemed unreal. Who could have thought that it would actually happen? People who died, were supposed to stay dead. Right? Luckily for us senior model rep, Brooke Harden, jokingly brought a shovel along with her for her senior portrait session after the morning news warned that there was an outbreak of a virus that causes insanity. We noticed a few things were off as we caravanned to Arbor Hills Nature Preserve. For one, the traffic was suspiciously...
2014 Valentine Shoot with Some Awesome Seniors!
We invited some of our models to bring their significant other or a friend to our Valentine Shoot this past weekend and we had such a great time! We decorated the studio with a table full of candy, cupcakes, cake balls, and Kool Aid, hung red and pink paper lanterns, and even had a huge teddy bear. Once Brad, Chabeli, Marissa and their friends arrived, we turned up the music and starting taking pictures right away. One thing we love about our 2014 senior model reps is the fact that they all have a great time in front of the camera and they aren’t afraid to act a little goofy...
Carrollton Relay For Life
Tyler R. Brown Photography was honored to donate our photographic services this evening for the Carrollton American Cancer Society Relay For Life. This is typically an outdoor event, but due to the weather, we were forced indoors to the RL Turner High School gymnasium, no matter, we ran the relay and had a great time helping to raise both money and awareness for this great cause. This cause touches close to home for both Stacia and I who have several family members who have survived, and one currently fighting this dreadful disease. It was a touching event, and one of the hardest things we have ever photographed. It’s hard to focus on, well, focus, and composition, lighting and all of the other things that go into a great photograph when you are fighting back the tears. Celebrating life, and remembering those that are no longer with us was the theme, and celebrate we did, with dancing, and face painting, Guitar Hero, an auction and lots of food! It was a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend it to anyone who’s life has been altered by cancer.
A special thank you to Team Yes We Can for making the arrangements to have us there. We were truly...
North Texas Irish Festival 2010
Some of our closest friends invited us to The North Texas Irish Festival this past weekend. We had never been before, so we thought we’d grab the new camera and see if we could make an evening out of it. We drove down from Frisco, and met up with them half way then had a great time and captured some very interesting images. It was a nice change from the typical wedding or senior photography shoot. You don’t usually get to have quite as many pints of Guinness or bowls of Irish stew when shooting a wedding, although we rarely turn down an on-the-job pint. :)
Well, before I get into too much trouble here, let’s take a look at the photos. There is one of the big Fair Park fountains, a really cute kid with a green mohawk and one of the musicians (Lucy McNeil) playing her bodhrán...
Model Shoot with Lacey Lemak
These photographs are of Lacey Lemak, one of the models that graciously, and quite patiently let us shoot her all day at Neil van Niekerk's flash photography seminar. I had a great time learning from Neil, and...
Couples Photography with Lisa and Jake at Dallas' West End
Lisa and Jake had been married for a year but never had the opportunity to have engagement photos taken. Of course they had their wedding photos, but they wanted something with an artistic twist that was more of who they were on a day to day basis. We met up with this lovely couple to capture the Dallas skyline at the West End. We chose to start this shoot a little later than normal in the evening. After all, their goal for this session was to walk away with “art” for their empty walls at home. Evening/night shoots are GREAT for capturing unique photographs, the beautiful sunset gives amazing backdrop opportunity and as it darkens, the Dallas skyline lights up, allowing for romantic and passionate images. At the end of the night, they walked away knowing they would have some spectacular pieces to hang up on those empty walls at home...
Visiting an Old Friend
I just returned from the UK where I was able to take a break from the Arsenal Futbol Religious Experience (more on that in a future post) and visit an old friend in Wales. My friend Mark died on the 16th of April in 2003, at 29. Mark and I share the same birthday, May 25th, so it was fitting that I was able to be over there for it. I was able to stop by and refresh his cache of American flags that Kristel, his wife (or I guess widow, which is still hard for me to say) sent over with me. I took these shots of where he now rests, which is just across the street from the house he grew up in. Here is his beautiful view of the Welsh...
