When was the last time you had family photos done? Our team makes fabulous senior portraits, but we also have a knack for capturing your family in the perfect moment. With a long list of locations we can create the perfect setting for your family, and grab the photos that you can’t help but share with your friends.
What to Expect
Our family sessions are photographed by our wonderful assistant photographer, Macy Villars! The session fee is $99 with the session lasting one hour at a location of your choice. We limit our family sessions one outfit. You can view some of the locations we have shot at on our location page. On the day of your session, you will meet our photographer at your location choice for your hour long session. Proceeding your session, we will work a selection of your images and schedule a time for you to come back to the studio to view your images during your view and order session. We work with each client personally to get you the products you're interested in ordering.
What to Wear
If you aren't sure how to dress your family for your portrait session, we suggest staying away from busy patterns. If done right, a mix of colors and clean patterns can look very nice.
Family portraits are about having fun while capturing the personalities of you and your family. Try selecting a favorite piece of clothing for yourself and using outfits for the rest of the family that work well with your outfit. Rompers in solid bright colors or a soft pattern are cute for the girls. Soft grays, blues and creams are examples of neutral colors that will go well with bright colors on the girls. Overall, you should work with a color pallet that you will enjoy instead of trying to match everyone's outfits.
Summer is a great time for family portraits but can be a bit warm as well. You'll want to be sure that nobody is sweating. Think light and bright colors such as whites, linens and pastels. Consider outfits that have some flow to them like a cute flowing skirt or dress. Cargo shorts and button up shirts with the sleeves rolled up are great for the boys. You should look comfortable in your family portraits and you can achieve that with light fabrics. Start with a few colors that compliment each other and go from there.
Simple and comfortable is great for fall. Dresses with a sweater and tights are a nice option for the girls. For the boys, jeans or khakis with a long-sleeved shirt and/or sweater in neutral or earthy tones work well. Need a pop of color? Try colored cords with a simple pattern or textured jacket for the girls. Go for a collared shirt and sweater for the boys if you want a classic look. If your family matches too much, the patterns might take attention away from your family and focus it more on your patterns.
What to Bring
Be sure to bring any personal items or props that you wish to incorporate in your portraits. You should also bring things like your hair brush/comb, hairspray, makeup, etc. for touch ups. The most important thing to bring is your family!
