On the afternoon of March 28, 2009, we arrived at the Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, Texas to photograph the celebration of marriage between Heather and Robert. We captured the bride and her maids while hair and make-up was being done, along with the groom and his men hanging out, telling jokes and doing what guys do. While the guys were goofing off, the ladies we making sure that Heather looked her best, with a few emotional moments.

There is something to be said about the moment in which a bride’s parents see her all dressed up for the first time on her big day. It’s the realization that their little girl is all grown up. This was such an emotional moment; I had tears welling up, just as they did. Of course there is nothing more overwhelming for a groom, then seeing his beautiful bride for the first time. For me personally, this is one of my favorite moments at a wedding. The expression on his face says everything; it is so real, even with a 100+ people in the room.

Heather and Robert’s ceremony was beautifully done, exchanging vows and rings, lighting the unity candle, that first kiss as a married couple and the introduction of Mr. & Mrs. for the first time. I’m sure it’s something this couple will never forget! The reception followed with dancing, a plated dinner, toasting to the newlyweds, cake cutting and a lot more dancing. We somehow managed, in this busy scheduled evening, to snatch the happy couple away to take some shots on the deck and the golf course. We were so pleased to have had the time to do that, the images we captured were perfect!
