Our Senior Rep Models got a taste of the Texas countryside when we headed to Luscombe Farms for a group session with Brooke, Kristin, and Lexi. They handled it like the southern belles that they truly are.
While attempting to let the heat subside, these lovely ladies met up at the studio for a round of hair and makeup with the talented Whitney Stiles. After being primped and primed, our belles found their grace and poise in the studio. Brooke, a senior at McKinney North High School as well as a dancer at Joan Martin Dance and Twirling, strutted her stuff for the camera and showed us a few of her amazing moves. Lexi is a senior at Lucas Christian Academy, and plays volleyball, soccer, and is part of student council. She showed us how she can go from all smiles to giving a fierce look! Kristin, senior from Richardson High School, is a member of the Carousel Co-choir and student council as well. She rocked a white dress – something that is very hard to do against a white back drop!
Having worked the studio, the ladies were ready to face the Texas heat, but not so ready to be photo bombed by our arachnid friends. Knowing that tarantulas are a Texas country staple is a very different situation than actually seeing the friendly critters (read: demon spawn) trying to cuddle up to our models and team (read: terrifying and chasing). But these ladies never lost their ultimate elegance and stature and with their heads held high, we managed to come out on top of our foes – I mean, friends.
The tarantulas ended up not being our only nemesis, have you ever heard of chiggers? As a search on Wikipedia will tell you, chiggers are microscopic arachnids that prefer to circle their prey for 10 hours before deciding to attack, biting with a ferociousness of 1,000 mosquitos, and then dying – having served their only purpose. We were all targeted from the moment we stepped into the grass, but at least we had amazing pictures to show for it!
We did have one additional casualty. While posing for a shot, Brooke was stung by the worst insect of them all – a wasp. After a few moments of panic, our brave warrior put a smile back on her face and worked through the pain.
All in all, the pictures were worth it and we could not be more proud of our three courageous Senior Model Reps. It just goes to show that we, at Tyler R. Brown Photography, will risk our very own lives (or really our phobias) to capture the images that you desire. We had a wonderful time with these three lovely Model Reps. If you think these images are awesome, we ask that you keep an eye out for their personal senior sessions and blog posts – we can promise that they are going to be amazing!
